How a piece is made

  1. ShapingI

    Shaping

    The clay takes shape by hand: bowls, plates, cups, sometimes an animal or a face.

  2. CarvingII

    Carving

    On the still-raw clay I draw with a point: figures, flowers, small stories.

  3. PaintingIII

    Painting

    Glazes and maiolica, brush by brush: cobalt blue, the red of flowers, a thread of gold.
